Top 5 Facebook Apps for Small Businesses
Facebook is a space that businesses can no longer ignore. As businesses, both large and small, establish a presence on Facebook they look to grow robust communities and help their pages stand out among the crowd. To do this, they turn to third-party applications to support their content. With hundreds of Facebook applications out there for businesses, you really can find an app for just about everything. To make your life easier, here is a list of 5 of the most useful Facebook apps for small businesses.
Wildfire:
A perfect solution to Facebook’s new terms of services, the Wildfire app includes a campaign wizard that allows you to set up your campaign quickly and effectively. Available campaign formats include sweepstakes, user-generated video, photo & essay-based contests and coupon giveaways. Analytics can be accessed at any time and downloaded into Excel format.
Involver:
Involver is a complete marketing suite for fan pages. It helps to sync content from Twitter, YouTube, and RSS, and to engage audiences through polls and coupons. The free subscription includes Involver branding and two applications. Some current users are Microsoft, GM, Sunkist, and American Eagle Outfitters.
Fan Appz:
Fan Appz is the first suite of Facebook applications and tools. Through its Top5, Poll and Quiz applications, Fan Appz will help your business engage and grow its fan base.
SlideShare:
With SlideShare you can upload your presentations, documents, PDFs, add mp3 audio to make webinars or embed YouTube videos into them. You can then import your presentations and other material into Facebook to share with your fans and get views and comments from them.
Testimonials:
The Testimonials application allows your fans to share their experiences with your brand with others. It adds credibility to your page, and encourages fans of your page to interact with one another.
Lastly, another app, which unlike the 5 listed above is not a third-party application, is the Static FBML app. Developed by Facebook, this app places a customizable space on your page where you can render HTML or Facebook Markup Language. As a result, you can create a more stylized page with advanced functionality.

This is an awesome list @jennaL15! I love when my staff teaches me stuff! Was unaware of how great the testimonials app was! – Carrie
Thanks, Carrie! There are a couple of other apps that serve the same purpose as the testimonials app, however, the one I chose had the best rating and highest number of active users. -Jenna
I’m a big fan of Involver. Only bad thing is that the free version only allows for 2 apps on your page and the paid version is outside of my budget (and probably a lot of other small businesses).
Not technically a facebook app, I also use sproutbuilder to build interactive widgets that can then be used with FBML.

Awesome list. I’m honored we made the cut!
Not sure if you guys have checked it out yet, but we also just launched a flickr app that helps you automatically push your photos on your page. We’ve got a bunch more apps coming out shortly as well.
I’ll give you guys a buzz when it’s ready
Best,
Tyler (Involver)
Thanks for the feedback!
Bob- we’ll look into sproutbuilder. Thanks for sharing!
Tyler- We’re excited about all the new apps! Keep them coming.
Am I missing something? The Testimonials app seems to only link with Friends…since we are a business running a Fan Page only, we only have Fans, not Friends. Is there a way to connect the Testimonial app with Fans instead?
